FAQ
1. What's with all the elephants?
Honestly...I don't know. I just like them. I like the way they look, I like the way they move, and I love the way they are so big and yet graceful. I currently have a few hundred elephants in my collection, ranging from small plastic toys to antiques to rather expensive pieces of art from all over the world. I do know which one was the first in the collection (it is one of the plastic toy varieties), and no, they aren't all named.
2. Ok, you work at Interactive Intelligence, but what do you do?
Officially, I am a Managed Services Engineer. I know that says nothing. Basically, if a company doesn't want to buy our software or the hardware needed to run it, they can pay us to set up and manage their system and we own all of the hardware and the software, they just use it. Traditionally this hosted scenario is great for small companies not wanting to put out the major costs up front, more recently, this has become a very popular solution for larger companies as well, essentially outsourcing a major business component for us to manage.
3. What is your favorite color?
I really love the color green, I'm happy with most shades of it.
4. Who did you vote for as the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year?
Bob Sanders, yeah baby! (Okay, maybe this isn't a frequently asked question, but I just wanted to boast that I was right.)
5. What is your favorite kind of food?
I think I could probably eat Mexican, or Tex-Mex, every meal except one or two where I'd have to have some sort of an Asian stir-fry over rice.
6. Which is worse, mashed potatoes or the gravy you put on it?
Ewww. I don't like mashed potatoes. My theory is that I'd like to chew my own food for as long as I can, thank you very much. I don't yet need anyone to mash it up for me, and the texture just kills me. I don't know if I dislike gravy because of its reputation with the mashed potatoes or otherwise, but in the end, I don't like it either. So to answer the question: neither, they are both particularly bad.
7. What is your favorite movie?
I am a big fan of both Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. (Charlie being the new version Willy Wonka being the old.)
8. Train A, traveling 70 miles per hour (mph), leaves Westford heading toward Eastford, 260 miles away. At the same time Train B, traveling 60 mph, leaves Eastford heading toward Westford. When do the two trains meet?
I'm not answering that. Go get a calculator. (hint: distance = rate x time)
